Class of 2021
Chandler “Chunky” Matthews: I played in Little Women, Shuddersome: Tales of Poe, 6ft scenes, and Circus Olympus. Right now, I’m out of college with a small degree and looking for a better job than the one I got to pursue a career in teaching, and on the side, I work with music, which is something I learned in theater with the help of some friends.
Darryl “Dang-It” Cole: I participate in the following shows: An Inconvenient Corpse, The Crucible, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Little Women, Shuddersome: Tales of Poe, Six Feet Tales, and Circus Olympus. I also served as Vice-President and then President of the Panther Tales Players. Currently, I live with my girlfriend and our dog and cat. I’m also part of directing North Cumberland Elementary’s production of Frozen (kids). I’m currently working towards becoming a teacher, and I’m nearly done with my degree.
Class of 2022
Cherokee “Chaotic” Carter-Smith: I was a stagehand for Six Feet Apart, an actress in Six Feet Below, and Radium Girls. I am back in Tennessee after living in Maine for a year. The only new things in my life are my puppy and a steadily growing number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Natalie “Nasty” Underwood: I was the former president of the Panther Tales Players, and I also participated in Mid Summer Nights Dream, Little Women, 5ft Above and Below, Shuddersome Tales of Poe, Circus Olympus, Ghostchasers, and Radium Girls. I also served as president of the Panther Tales Players! I am currently going to college at ETSU in Johnson City. I am getting a Bachelor's in Theatre with an acting concentration and a minor in English. After that, I plan on getting a master's in Education. I am currently cast in Shakespeare's The Tempest, adapted by Bobby Funk here at ETSU.
Caleb “Traitor” Anderson: I was the stage manager in Little Women, Shuddersome: Tales of Poe, and Circus Olympus, and I acted in Ghostchasers and Radium Girls. Currently, I am enrolled at TTU for Health Sciences, and I hope to go to pharmacy school!
Class of 2023
Ava “Annoying” Whittaker: I was in 3 shows- Ghostchasers, Into The Woods, and Usher: A Totally Teen Comedy- but I worked on WAY more than 3, haha. I am a sophomore at the University of Mississippi, getting a BFA in stage and screen! The only new thing in my life right now is that we are putting on a gender-bent version of Julius Caesar at school, and I am playing Metellus Cimber!!
Makayla “Messy” Hatfield: I was in Little Women, Ghostchasers, and Usher: A Totally Teen Comedy! I worked publicity for almost all of the shows during my time at SMHS. Right now, I’m a sophomore at UT majoring in journalism with a concentration in sports communications. I’m also currently working with UT Athletics and ESPN to broadcast Tennessee sports.

Makayla “Messy” Hatfield: I was in Little Women, Ghostchasers, and Usher: A Totally Teen Comedy! I worked publicity for almost all of the shows during my time at SMHS. Right now, I’m a sophomore at UT majoring in journalism with a concentration in sports communications. I’m also currently working with UT Athletics and ESPN to broadcast Tennessee sports.
